I just saw the last flashes of light on the trunk of a sturdy Baobab. In the local language, these amazing trees are called "Renala" meaning mother of the forest because some of them are up to 2800 years old. The presence of these trees has led to the growth of tourism in the region and Morondava, and its residents. They make living by selling and making wooden handicrafts of these baobabs and providing services to tourists.
