Shahab Cheraghi was born in 1980. He completed his studies in Natural Resources and Environment Management and worked for 8 years with awareness raising and UN awareness projects to protect endangered species in Iran’ villages.
He is the author of three books about environment, which one of them is known as a reference book for environment interested and ecotourists.
Shahab Cheraghi is also a major member of the Iranian Photographers Association and his photos of Iran nature has been published in several books such as Atlas of Iranian Birds, Atlas of Iranian Mammals, Wildlife Photo Book of Iran, Atlas of Protected Areas of Iran, Desert Guide to Birds of Iran, National Geographic Farsi Magazine and etc.
He entered the tourism industry in 2010 and tried to introduce new destinations for Iranian tourists and introduce a different style of travel to nature lovers and travel enthusiasts. He designed and managed several adventurous voyages from Iran to Madagascar, the Amazon jungles, Peru, the Galapagos, Patagonia, the Russian and Siberian Arctic, Borneo, Papua, and many other destinations.
In 2019, he received the Iranian Top Tourist Guide Award from the Iranian Tourist Guides Association and so far, he has more than 80 successful tours to the untouched regions of the world in his record.
Due to his special interest in evolution, he traveled to most of the places visited by Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace, observing and studying animal species, as well as to the tribes and indigenous communities of those areas and recorded their manner of life.
Now, his audio and video travelogues are one of the most important sources for those interested in traveling in Iran.
Since 2012, he has been teaching Ecotourism, Introduction to Iranian Wildlife, Photography and Nature Photography, and Introduction to protected for Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization.
